    While vacationing at the Grand Canyon, and completely surrounded by Secret Service agents, Trace Sawyer, the President of the United States's son, goes around a corner and disappears into thin air. With every minute counting, the Secret Service pulls out all stops and blankets the South Rim of the Canyon with men but seven hours later, they don't have a single clue as to what happened to him. Desperate, the First Lady has the President call Troy Barclay to assist in the search but as an Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms agent, he and his partner, Amber Neilson, are as welcome as a bad case of flu. By themselves they go to the location where Trace went missing and five minutes later, Troy figures it out. When he tells the President and First Lady how their son was kidnapped, they are amazed and the President orders the two ATF agents to go after the kidnappers and rescue their son. Just as Troy and Amber are about to hike into the Grand Canyon, three Secret Service agents intercept them and beg to go on the hunt. Amber and Troy agree but with the stipulation that it is Troy and Amber's case and they will give the orders.After a quick ride down into the Canyon in a sight-seeing helicopter, the five lawmen start looking for the kidnappers' trail. It takes them a while but they finally find the kidnappers' trail and set off after them. Unluckily, the kidnappers spot them on their trail and have two men set up an ambush while the others move on. But Troy breaks up the ambush and captures the kidnappers and sends them back to the South Rim with one of the Secret Service agents. The three have been gone for an hour when a gigantic explosion sounds from the direction they were headed. A drone-fired Hellfire missile killed the agent and his two prisoners.Troy and Amber realize they must capture the kidnappers before they can escape into the vast Navajo Reservation where the odds are good they will never be caught. Later, they catch up with, and confront the kidnappers but find they have been tricked into following the wrong group of kidnappers. After killing two black ops guys Troy and Amber realize the kidnapping is the tip of a government conspiracy iceberg. Turns out the CIA is involved and want the kidnappers dead and are willing to accept collateral damage that includes Trace Sawyer.From the Grand Canyon they venture to Las Vegas where they are involved in a huge shootout that sends them to South Carolina to talk to a witness, and on to Alexandria, Virginia where they discover the GRU (Russian military intelligence) is also hunting the kidnappers. With a lot of lives on the line, and rogue CIA agents gunning for them, Amber and Troy must outwit and outgun the GRU, the CIA and the kidnappers to save the President's son and bring to justice an escaped mass murderer responsible for the deaths of 8,000 Bosnians.

    When Troy Barclay and Amber Neilson, two ATF agents, accidentally save the President's life during an assassination attempt, he is so impressed with their skills that he asks them to investigate a cunning and deadly killer who has murdered several women who were close to him. While the Secret Service protects the President, Troy and Amber start searching for clues that will help them catch the murderer. But nothing works the way it is planned and Troy saves the President from a second assassination attempt launched by the determined assassin who uses an Abrams tank in his attack. Completely frazzled by the Secret Service's inability to protect him, the President secretly takes Air Force One to a secret location and then orders Troy and Amber to join him and to continue their investigation. With the help of a half-dozen experienced but wacky investigators, Troy and Amber close in on the killer but the bodies keep piling up until they find his main stash of over 100 bodies. Realizing they have stumbled on a murderous monster, Troy and Amber go all in and take big chances to stop the killer. While Troy is in LA to check out a body there, Amber goes on a date with the President--a date that ends in a huge shootout that pits Amber against the assassin--a shootout that Amber wins. The LA body turns out to be alive and the woman who survived the murder attempt was lucky enough to hang on to the murder weapon--a woman's belt. When Troy sees it, he knows he has seen one like it before, but he can't remember where. Back with the investigative team at the President's secret location, Troy learns that he has been invited to dine with the President on a docked aircraft carrier. Turns out Amber and two other women were invited as well. But as Troy boards the aircraft carrier, he sees the three women tied up in chairs on the carrier deck. Troy realizes too late that the trap is for the President but before he can react, the killer raises a pistol and tells Troy goodbye.

Troy and Amber come down hard on several drug dealers who witnessed the murder and get a description of the killer. As they track down the Invisible Man, he learns of their investigation and tries to kill them. As they turn up the heat on both investigations, both killers make mistakes and Troy and Amber capitalize on them and close in on the killers. In a marathon gut-wrenching firefight, the two ATF agents shoot it out with the Invisible Man’s mercenaries but a twist of fate brings them face to face with the master killer.The next day, when the NYPD homicide detective comes to work, he finds a hooded man sitting at his desk. A sign on the man’s back says, ‘I killed your wife.” With their work in New York done, Troy and Amber start back to Phoenix but a call from the detective sends them to the Empire State Building.
